Hatch Release
The SPD Gas Spring Lid/Hatch Release provides a simple economical way to securely latch a lid and have it open from a remote location. Used in conjunction with a properly engineered in SPD Gas Spring and opening lids or hatches is automatic! These high quality latching mechanisms are available in a single or dual actuating configuration. The hatch releases are a cable activated system with spring loaded strike pins on the end. These strike pins engage a strike plate to securely latch and hold the lid closed. A simple pull on the handle will retract the end bolts and the gas springs will offer easy lifting of the lid or hatch. The SPD Gas Spring Lid/Hatch Releases are constructed of a high quality cable with stainless steel end bolts. Both the mounting bracket and strike plate are also constructed of 304 series stainless steel. The activating T-handle is made of corrosion resistant plastic for long service life. The SPD Gas Spring Lid/Hatch Release Kit is ideal for boat sundeck and engine covers, storage bunk applications in RV’s and boats or anywhere a gas spring is used to assist in lifting a lid.
